This laptop is targeted at small businesses but it's really for anyone who wants a reliable ultrabook that isn't a MacBook Air. Lenovo IdeaPad Y480 The IdeaPad Y480 gets you Lenovo's excellent construction quality and ergonomic design without having a "business" laptop, but some more configuration flexibility would be appreciated. HP Envy 15 (winter 2012) HP's Envy line has always been a reliable high-end PC laptop line, and this new redesign adds some useful features, such as a volume wheel, while keeping the upscale look and feel. Apple MacBook Pro Fall 2011 (2.2GHz Core i7, 15-inch) A MacBook Pro is a significant investment, especially when adding in optional upgrades. Cost aside, there's not a better choice (there are, however, some close ties) for an all-around powerhouse that will work in the home, the office, and in between. Dell XPS 13 Dell packs a 13-inch display into a very small footprint in the XPS 13 ultrabook, making it one of the few slim laptops that actually top the MacBook Air in some areas.
