Construction Of Global Knives
Global knives are made in Japan. They have several product lines for their cutlery. Their construction really varies by the series that they are in. They are all constructed well.
The four product lines for Global knives are the G, the GS, the GF and the GSF. All of the Global knives have forged blades and are individually balanced. None of them have bolsters and that makes the larger knives easier to sharpen.
The G, GS and GF Global knives are all constructed from three pieces, the blade, two halves of the handle. The GSF Global knives have a blade and collars that are forged as one piece and do not have welds. The handles that are welded are filled with enough metal to balance properly.
Global knives are easy to keep clean because of their seamless construction. The best way to care for Global knives is to wash them thoroughly with hot soapy water, then to towel dry them. Global knives come with a lifetime warranty, but it covers manufacturing issues and not misuse.
Global knives have a small handle diameter and the weight is lighter than most cutleries on the market. The edges of Global knives are also thinner than most cutleries and keep its edge sharper longer. This does not mean that Global knives do not
need to be professionally sharpened from time to time.
Global knives are made from stainless steel. They are ice tempered and hardened. They have a Rockwall Hardness of 56-58 degrees. They are very strong and useful. It is a great idea to buy sheaths for your Global knives. They help to prevent damage during storage.
All in all, Global knives are great because the handle is welded to the blade and the blade is thinner than most. Global knives have a very attractive design and are so durable that you may never want another set of knives again.
You can find Global knives through many retailers and also at online stores. They are a great investment in your kitchen and in your success as a cook. They are available as individual pieces or in sets.
